July 2007 (Las Vegas)

Word from our Director: Dear DFW Titans, first I want to thank all who made the journey west to Sin City. We had a good time, and even though it didn't quite turn out as we would have wanted, all in all, our team learned alot! I really think with some work and commitment, by next year, we could be looking alot closer to the other teams.

We were highly outmatched by all the teams, but one, though I feel we played with professionalism and respect and it showed even in our losses. We were given several compliments and teams asked about our own DFW tournament. I was very proud of the way we played on Saturday and feel that is the direction we will move in. Many of you stated we needed to have at least 2 practices before such a venture to get us on the same page - I agree. I will do my best to make sure this happens before the next major tournaments.

I do need to remind people our organization is only 5 months old and has accomplished quite a bit in a short time. We have people playing hockey who have never done so before, and revitalized people who are getting on the ice again. We now have 3 teams, with one going into its second season.

If you didn't hear, Mass. State Troopers won in a shootout 5-4 over Las Vegas Guns and Hoses. Plunkers everywhere rejoice, because the number 9 man on the Troopers roster scored the winning goal stumbling his way through the penalty shot.

Thank you all again for making our first ever travel tournament as the DFW Titans a success!
